Brooklyn's Quiet Lights
have a new EP in the works, promising more of their wildfire shoegaze with the first offering "Simple Mechanics" (starts small, ends epic). If you like creeping-up-on-you choruses and cymbals so splashy they might be tidal waves, then this Bud's for you!
The new EP, The Big Fear
, is out 6/28 via Old Flame Records. We haven't heard the rest of it yet, but band-member Marcus Smith offered us some insight:
"The the tracks were recorded with Jason LaFarge (SWANS, Devendra Banhart) and mixed by John Congleton (Explosions in the Sky, St. Vincent) and are as vulnerable as they are dramatic with swirls of sound centered around singer Yseult Tyler's breathy vocals."
If this first one is any indication, we're inclined to believe him. Grab it below.
And be sure to catch the band when they hit Bar Matchless on 5/13 in NYC and on 6/19 at Public Assembly for the Northside Festival.
