5 Pettiest Music Feuds We Have Ever Seen

There is nothing more exciting than petty celebrity drama. Admit it, we all love inserting ourselves right amidst the bitchiness. Aretha Franklin knows something about gaining respect. She recently re-ignited her five-year feud with fellow diva, Dionne Warwick, over comments she had made about Franklin at Whitney Houston's funeral. Warwick allegedly spread rumors about Franklin and her absence. We guess pettiness never ages. And that statement could not be more evident based on the music feuds that have been going for the last thirty years. They are wild, hilarious, odd, and just so deliciously petty. Here our are top five.

    1. David Grohl vs. Courtney Love

These two are 90s rock icons. They are both so big that we can't even think of the word "grunge" without the two of them popping up in our thoughts. Before the death of Kurt Cobain, the two already didn't like each other. Courtney Love had been known to sit in on Nirvana sessions and stir up fights back stage. Tensions were high and Kurt's death set their already-rocky relationship on fire. Grohl and Love would have dramatic battles over Nirvana's legacy and who owns the rights to everything for over twenty years. The constant bickering lasted so long because of the slander they would dish about each other to media outlets. There was a lot of... "colorful language," to say the least.

    2. Eminem vs. Mariah Carey

Eminem loves to name drop celebs in his songs. From Britney Spears to Christina Aguilera, nobody is safe from Eminem's wrath. His lyrics are raunchy and crude but most celebrities brush it off their shoulders, except for the one, the only, notorious diva herself. Mariah Carey. Eminem had claimed that him and Carey had romantic history and released voicemails she left him in 2005. Carey publicly said Eminem was delusional and followed up with every girl's break up song, "Obsessed." That was the perfect diva move towards Eminem who is famously known to be an aggressive songwriter.

    3. Rihanna vs. Ciara

The queens of R&B pop had gotten into a small feud when Ciara called Rihanna out for her "bad attitude" while guest-hosting Fashion Police in 2011. We don't know what was bugging Rihanna that day but it sure did tick off Ciara. Oh no! The miscommunication and awkward body language caused tensions between the two. Ciara then took to twitter to tell RiRi that she didn't want to catch her off stage. But fear not, this feud was quickly settled. Rihanna apologized for her behavior that day and Ciara said that things had "always been love since day 1." Yay!

    4. Drake vs. Meek Mill

This one is an instant classic...The feud isn't about Nicki Minaj, but we like to pretend that it is because Drake and Nicki are #CoupleGoals. The drama sparked between the two rappers when Meek called out Drake for having a ghostwriter. The new rap age generation is different and luckily a lot aggression in hip-hop and R&B is taken out on diss tracks. "Back to Back" was put out in 2015 by Drake, and to be frank, it was awesome and much better than the diss track that came after... There, we said it.

    5. Taylor Swift vs. Kanye West

Another classic. This feud is a pop culture staple piece. If you don't already know about the beef that has gone down between the infamous music icons, let us fill you in on the wild ride of a relationship.

In 2009, Swift won best female music video at the MTV Video Music Awards against stand-out Beyonce. To Kanye's dismay, he ran up on stage during Swift's speech and said, "Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." That statement is now an iconic meme. Fast forward to 2015, it looked like the two had buried the hatchet when T-Swift presented Kanye a Moonman trophy at the VMA's for the Video Vanguard Award. So that's great! Everything's settled? WRONG. A year later, Kanye was writing lyrics for his latest album, The Life of Pablo, and reached out to his homegirl for permission to use her name in a sexually explicit line. Apparently she said yes...But then she denied that that interaction happened and said his lyrics were misogynistic. That was a really bad move for Swift, because then Ye's mogul wife Kim Kardashian took to snapchat to reveal a video between T-Swift and Kanye discussing the song over the phone, and Swift was being nice, giving approval. It was one massive burn for the country-turned-pop star, but we can't help feel giddy over this narrative (that she did not ask to be a part of).
