The Black Keys premiered their latest single "Bullet In The Brain" during a live performance for
on BBC Radio 1. Self-admittedly, I started to "Turn Blue"
thinking I caught a "Fever"
after the two previous singles failed to resonate but I'm optimistic again with "Bullet In The Brain."
In fact, I'm hoping its rumbling bass lines and powerful rhythm section reflects the remaining songs off Turn Blue
. The retro sound of "Bullet In The Brain" harkens back to the golden era of classic rock when Pink Floyd changed the world during the mid 1970s. The combination of experimental keyboards and Auerbch's guitar enhances the dramatic ambience of its hooky chorus. Unlike the two previous singles, I'm not sitting here puzzled by Auerbach's nonexistent guitar tone that we've grown accustomed to hearing as Black Keys listeners.
