A few weeks ago, we reported on the astounding success that Adele has achieved across the globe with her sophomore LP, 21, specifically in Britain. The good news hasn't stopped flooding in for Adele, as her album continues to shatter records left and right. 21 is now the longest running album by a female solo artist to hold the top spot for consecutive weeks in the UK, but it doesn't end there. 21 is clearly her lucky number, as she took this record from previous title-holder, Madonna, who has now forfeited the throne after, you guessed it, 21 years. Madonna's 1990 album, Immaculate Collection, was the previous title holder, but lost the honor as Adele's 21 remained at number one for the tenth week in a row.

It is impressive and completely refreshing for a female artist to break this kind of ground in the music industry today without auto tune, the Ark Music Factory, egg capsules, whiskey toothpase, or alien themed music videos. Let's hope this is an indication of a long and bright career for Adele, and a positive shift for the music world.
