It's starting out as a great week for hip-hop. New Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Lil B, and now we've got some new material from Atlanta spitfire Killer Mike
. His new album, produced by underground hip-hip luminary El-P
, R.A.P. Music
("Rebellious African People" making it the coolest hip-hop abbreviation since N.W.A.) is out 5/15. It seems like every track released from it so far is a vicious, angry political rap statement, and the newest track "Don't Die" is no exception. In the wake of the Trayvon Martin incident, the "Fight the Power"/"Thuggish Ruggish Bone"-esque political opening vocal statement couldn't seem more relevant.
