Scientific fact: dancing by yourself is most enjoyable when listening to a cassette player. It also helps when the music is period appropriate, e.g. Brandon Flowers' wonderfully 80's track, "Lonely Town."

The recently released music video follows the downtime escapades of a cute blonde and a furtive spectator. She bounces around her house bumping Flowers' throbbing synth ballad as her admirer skulks about the outside. I love that we the viewers become the voyeur, watching from the POV of the desperate stalker, who's clearly watching things from his own 'Lonely Town.' And the song is fantastic; a hypnotizing beat and pulsing synth pads shuttle Flowers' cinematic voice as he laments.

[Ed. Note: Have I been the only music writer to pick up on the fact that this video is a huge homage to Ti West's indie horror classic, The House of the Devil?]
