MGMT Keep Things Weird with 'Mystery Disease' at Penn State

    These past two weeks, MGMT enthusiasts have been given some generous glimpses at their self-titled third album. Besides the release of "Alien Day" via cassette on Record Store Day, the untamed psychedelic rockers soared through a new tune appropriately named "Mystery Disease" for a fortunate crowd at Penn State.

    The song alludes to their usual fleeting feel, with some cosmological percussion blazing through its entirety. The instrumentals sound evocative, lingering between electronic calamity over alto synth. It sounds pretty experimental and risky in a good way, building up some eagerness for the album's release later on this year.
