Baeblemusic went HD yesterday. You didn't notice the changeover because we are good at our jobs (mostly) and really the only thing we want you to notice is the increase in visual quality of the Concerts and Sessions in our library that you watch most. We quietly swapped a new generation of players that allow us to use Adoptive Bit Rate Streaming (HLS). This is a standard in wide use on the IOS platforms and by Netflix (among others) to bring you those movies in amazing HD.
This evolution is important to us and you for a couple of reasons. HLS video allows those of you with poor connections to still enjoy a concert or session without buffering while we serve you a lesser video stream that matches your connection. Those of you with great connections are rewarded with HD quality video as the player detects that you have a high speed connection and sends you the HD stream. HLS for Baeble is more efficient as it only delivers video to you in 10-second chunks. This avoids the cost of delivering to your desktop an entire concert that you may only watch your favorite few songs of. We also, once we complete a couple more updates in the Music Video section, will be bringing you pre-roll commercials platform wide - unfortunately. Those of you using our Roku Channel are already watching funny and relevant commercials. We promise not to go all 'Hulu' on you and over burden you with these.
We converted to the new players and video technology with our newest and most popular concerts and sessions. Throughout the coming months we will be re-mastering the entire library to bring you all of our amazing concerts and sessions up to the new standards.

Some perspective: When we launched the site in 2007 we streamed you a Flash video file at 200 kilobits per second. Today the top bit rate we deliver to you is 3,400 kilobits be second. We are giving you a video experience that is 17 times more data / quality and is now truly broadcast quality.
This was our original player back in 2007.
Today we can say no one touches the quality of the video and audio experience that you experience with the videos we produce for you. We watch everything and no other company comes close to what we do now. In truth we did film with handy cams at one time, but you have to start somewhere.
If you haven't already run out and buy real speakers or a headset for your computer/tablet or Roku, also buy a Dual Band Wifi router to make sure you get the best connection at home (though we know you are all most likely watching at school or your office). No matter where you're watching, we serve you, the viewer, and the artist whose performances we are bringing to life every day.
