The Hives Announce New Album

    Rock extraordinaires The Hives have everyone breaking out in hives about their current tour, and recent news about upcoming plans might get you even more swollen: They're making a new album! The Swedish five-piece hasn't released an LP since way back in 2007, when they put out The Black and White Album. Their fifth, Lex Hives, will be out on June 5th via the band's own label, Disque Hives. The band previewed some of their new songs at Coachella, "Come On," "Wait A Minute" and "Go Right Ahead."

    In an interview with NME, lead singer Howlin' Pelle Almqvist said the new work "still sounds like The Hives." But the band's not trying to relive their "Hate To Say I Told You So" days: "Its sad when we see other bands at festivals who just look back to their good old days. Whats the point of that? Each record has to be better than your last, surely?" Bold words from a man that probably has the right to coast into his golden years on an already solid catalog. Check out the tour dates below.
