is a bad ass. Many Americans don't know this but the Australian pop star has been killing it for years. With her unbelievably powerful vocals, she is easily one of the most talented singers in the music industry. With the inescapable jam "Chandelier" taking over the airwaves, she is finally getting attention in the U.S. that she deserves. Taking the clock way back, she is releasing a remix album next week called Big Girls Cry (The Remixes)
. The last time I cared about a remix album was when I bought Maroon 5
's Call and Response: The Remix Album
because I liked the producers on it in 2008 (the album was okay, I guess).
Today we have the title track off the album, formerly released on last year's 1000 Forms of Fear
, remixed by Jack Antonoff of Bleachers
fame. The song is catastrophic now with masterfully placed drums. Hitting hard and heavy, Sia's insane voice is still the main attraction. This kind of production suits her. With a powerful voice and a powerful sound she could be filling arenas around the world. As her vocals distort and repeat, "Big girls cry when their hearts are breaking," Sia sounds vulnerable but still confident. I guess that's a perk of being a bad ass.
Check out the song below and get ready for Big Girls Cry (The Remixes)
dropping April 28th.
