Alt-pop rockers, Garbage, have announced news of their sixth studio album, Strange Little Birds, and they've just released its first single, "Empty." The track is packed with 90s nostalgia and meaty guitar chords.
"Empty" is a song about exactly what it sounds like: emptiness. Shirley Manson burst out cries during the chorus, "I'm so empty / You're all I talk about" over razor-edged guitars and noisy synths. It's the first track Garbage has released since 2012 and if the rest of the album is like the first track, we can expect to travel back a couple decades for some reminiscent grunge-rock feels.
Later this week, Garbage will be announcing their North American string of dates for their world tour and look out for Strange Little Birds out June 10th.
