has experienced quite a few changes since the release of their self-titled, fourth album in 2011; after the group's members disbanded, frontman Daniel Layus took himself and the Augustana name on a journey to the heartland, migrating from San Diego's surf to the Music City itself, Nashville. Here is where he decided to create Augustana's fifth record Life Imitating Life
"I took some time to really sit back and make sure writing and making records and performing on the road was something I was still passionate about, it didn't take me long before I knew what the answer was and I started writing," Layus explained. "A lot of things started to really come into focus for me both on and off stage in my life and that's really the foundation for a lot of this record."
After making the decision to plunge back in with Life
, Layus teamed up with producer John O'Mahoney (Metric, Sara Bareilles) to convert his self-reflecting therapy into 10 new tracks (12 when counting bonus tracks). Join us, and Layus, as we all revisit and grasp our past's indiscretions through the guidance of Life Imitating Life
