The MTA has teamed up with Spotify to honor David Bowie
and simultaneously advertise the "David Bowie Is" exhibition at Brooklyn Museum. Pictured above are the metro cards that are now for sale at the Broadway-Lafayette station which is only a couple of blocks away from where the late singer used to live in SoHo, New York. You can purchase your Bowie subway cards at the price of $6.50. They have a two ride minimum.
Last year, the MTA rolled out Supreme branded cards and Twin Peaks-
inspired cards in honor of David Lynch's cult show. So, if you're into collecting things this is something you won't want to miss out on.
If collecting limited edition items isn't your thing but you're still a Bowie fan, don't worry. The whole Broadway-Lafayette station has been done up with various Bowie song lyrics on stairs, quotes, and pictures of the singer so you can at least stop by and take an IG photo.
Maybe they can later add David Bowie inspired subway carts that have his songs on repeat? I'm just trying to get the full experience here with the amount of money we pay each year. I'm sure die-hard Bowie fans agree with me.
