Drake Reveals 'My Side' Of The Story

Not a bad week for Drake. After a god awful, but note worth publicity make out session with the iconic pop star Madonna, Drake is gearing up for a physical release of his surprise mixtape, If You're Reading This It's Too Late. The tape, which dropped back in February, has been burning up the airwaves and Billboard. At one point the entire mixtape had charted on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. Getting one song to chart is hard enough, but imagine getting all seventeen songs on your mixtape on there. The man is a hit making machine, and it doesn't look like he has any intention of slowing down. With his upcoming album, Views From The 6, still slated for this year, it's a surprise Drake is still giving us new music. In this case, it comes in the form of a bonus track for the physical release of If You're Reading This It's Too Late.

"My Side" is typical Drake being Drake. Opening up the hazy tune with the Drake-ish line "This sh** sound like what being rich feel like," it's hard to take the man seriously unless you're seriously high or seriously sad. The beat is slow, highlighted by a snare and loud muted drums. The minimalist theme follows the late night moody musings of the mixtape. As the emotional Drake asks, "Why are we wasting our relationship on a relationship?/Why are we rushing and forcing it? This isn't making sense," it becomes clear why people relate to the man so much. His songs may not always be intricate or sang in a technical manner, but his ability to step into the every man's shoes allows for him to appeal to almost anyone with relationship woes. We all know Drake has been "running through the 6 with [his] woes," and he may as well. Dude seems unstoppable right now.

Check out "My Side" below and get ready for the real album Views From The 6 dropping later this year.
