George R.R. Martin evidently has a bone to pick with the institution of marriage. Without fully spoiling last night's episode of Game Of Thrones, we'll just tell you that shit was next-level bonkers at King Joffrey and Margaery Tyrell's nuptials. Prior to its epic conclusion, the episode featured a very musical cameo as Sigur Ros performed as the wedding entertainment, until Joffrey hailed a handfull of coins at a frightened Jonsi — perhaps the funniest moment of the entire series. Prior to the episode, the band shared their rendition of the "The Rains of Castamere", a song that was last covered by The National for the infamous "Red Wedding"...maybe we should have seen it as an omen?
Here's the clip from the episode.
