The last thing I expected to hear today was a band that sounds like what would happen if you married Grimes
to early DIIV
(back when they were just Dive), but that's exactly what Night School
has given us. With a fresh fusion of shoegaze/dreampop with avant pop as well as 60s girl groups, Night School has discovered a sound all their own. Throw in the video for "Unkind," which we're very happy to be premiering today, and you instantly realize the band's ability to mesh nostalgia with warped, modern sensibilities. We still want those perennially delayed DIIV and Grimes sophomore albums, but Night School will hold us over just fine til then.
