If I say the words Brooklyn art-folk, you probably immediately get visions of dudes with massive beards trolling organic coffee shops in Williamsburg singing with a glockenspiel about rustic simplicity despite the irony of their location. It feels like as hipster a genre you could up with that didn't somehow involve combining chillwave and folk (folkwave? it probably already exists). Still, art-folk is making a plea for the attention it deserves with the track "Maine" from Brooklyn artist Conveyor
. It starts out as a lush and ambitious sonic response to Panda Bear tracks (especially "Bros") before it morphs itself into harmonious and folksy track that could feel right at home sung by James Mercer or the Weepies.
