Cadence Weapon has begun a month long tease of his new album, Hope in Dirt City, releasing a new track and video for "Conditioning". The hook alone ("I live in bad conditions but I have my conditioning") seems right at home with the title's sentiment; it's bad, but it can get better. Cadence Weapon is Roland Pemberton, and his video for the track is a portrait piece of sorts; of Pemberton, of his crew, and the environment they inhabit. Dirt City fits the damp, charcoal aesthetic of the neighborhood. The Canadian rapper also spends a good amount of the video...conditioning; in the streets, on the court, at the gym. It's kind of like the training scene in Rocky IV, minus Pemperton screaming the name of his arch-nemesis ("Draaagooooooo!") from the top of a jagged, snow covered mountain, of course.
