Today is International Women's Day
and it is pretty much impossible to miss. From the Google Doodle to every major media outlet, the struggle and movement for women's rights is recognized. For a little history, in 1910 The International Socialist Woman's Conference suggested an annual Woman's Day. Socialist and Communist countries led the way on this recognition until 1975 when this was universally adopted by the United Nations.
We would like to celebrate some of our favorite women leading the charge musically and lending their voices for the continuing struggle to be treated fairly and equally.
One of our favorite leading voices, she has taken a break from her enormously successful side gig as a Broadway impresario to release new music.
Her newly released tune "Armor" is a manifesto for our times.
We caught up with her for a conversation prior to "Waitress" blowing up into the huge success it has become.
What a country star on Baeble? Let's set the record straight – we love all music (except Death Metal). We all got to know Maren last year when she was the voice of the mega hit "The Middle" with Zedd.
Her new album "Girl" is out today, and we are digging it. The title track "GIRL" gets to the essence of the power and pain of being a woman.
This effort made our week. ROZES assembled some of the powerful woman from her label for a very special version of her smash anthem "Halfway There," Mandy Lee of Misterwives, Samantha Gongol of Marian Hill and Chelsea Lea of SHAED all lend their voices for this special rendition.
Their label treated us to a little BTS footage of them recording the track.
Each of these women is charting their own course and we are huge fans.

Let's all celebrate powerful creative women and join the struggle for what is right.
