In today's taste of covers that make absolutely no sense, noise rock buzz band Sleigh Bells performed an essentially 1:1 cover of Beyonce's hit "Irreplaceable" for a BBC show. The only difference between this and the original is the fact that it's acoustic. There's no overwhelming (and abrasive) layers of noise or the distortion that characterized their last effort, Reign of Terror. Let us suggest other Beyonce tracks for modern rock females to cover. Kim Gordon could take on "Single Ladies" (too soon?); Kim Deal could reach back to Destiny's Child with "I'm a Survivor", and the obvious choice for Claire Boucher (Grimes) is a future-pop take on "Run the World (Girls)."
