Earlier this year, The xx
released their third studio album, I See You
, and they're following up "On Hold"
with a hometown video that embraces young love in "Say Something Loving."
The video begins with scenes of young people in various places around London - an arcade, train station, in a city bus, dancing in a club - as it cuts back and forth to the British trio, who are performing in front a blue screen. The idea for the video came when The xx wanted to pay tribute to their own youth, saying "We wanted to celebrate our hometown and revisit some of the places that remind us of our friendship when we were growing up." The video goes along with the theme of I See You
of celebration and being true to yourself.
