When you've been waiting a whopping six years for a new Fleet Foxes album, what're a few more months? The band will finally return on June 16th with Crack-Up, the follow-up to 2011's Helplessness Blues. The announcement was brought to the world with a long, multi-part epic folk song, "Third Of May/Ōdaigahara."

There's a little bit of everything in this song: pounding pianos, nimbly-plucked guitars, voices that rise together then smoothly transition back to a lone singer, and shifts from loud to quiet. It's a song that proves Fleet Foxes hasn't lost that ambitious, emotionally-charged folk/Baroque pop sound over the last few years.

Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold wrote all 11 songs on Crack-Up and helped co-produce the album with bandmate, Skyler Skjelset. The album's name was inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald's collection of essays under the same name and the artwork features work by Japanese photographer, Hiroshi Hamaya.
