Baeble First Play: The Progressive Acoustic Pop Of Alvarez Kings

Acoustic alt-pop is a tough line on which to balance your music. Done well, you can craft warm, accessible pop music that isn't overproduced to death. Done...less than well, you get frat boy pop. British alt-pop act Alvarez Kings are decidedly the former and we couldn't be happier to hear their music hitting it stateside.

We've got the exclusive premiere of Alvarez King's latest single, "Sleepwalking," and it's a stunner. The band released their debut EP, Fear to Feel, last year, and if that EP and this single are any indication, Alvarez Kings are a band that will be on our radar for a while to come. "Sleepwalking" is an expert fusion of the theatrical, lush folk pop of fellow Brit Ben Howard with the warm uplift and expertly crafted hooks of peak Dispatch. And if you've ever fallen in love with Every Kingdom or "The General," you should know how exciting that combination could be.

Alvarez Kings are currently on tour with Melanie Martinez (and will be playing here in NYC at the Playstation Theater on 3/24).
