Ramona Falls is the monkier of Brent Knopf, a singer andmulti-instrumentalist whose musical talents are seemingly unlimited. Previously a member of Portland trio Menomena, Knopf split from the group to focus on his solo project early last year. Fans of Knopf's earlier work will definitely feel welcome here too: Ramona Falls employs clever instrumentation, funky drum and bass rolling along under icy classical piano arrangements. While Knopf's style is one of today's most distinct, it's hard to call Ramona Falls a complete "solo project." Knopf got help from 35 of his closest musically minded friends on his first album, Intuit, including Mirah, and members from Modest Mouse and Sleater-Kinney. Ramona Falls has a new album out on May 1 titled Prophet.

Here's a track from that first record that we think really jives, called "I Say Fever."
