Ten hip-hop and Latin music artists were hired by HBO to produce a Game of Thrones-themed mixtape entitled Catch the Throne, which will be released online this Friday. According to WSJ, "A team of producers at New York's Launch Point Records layered samples of dialogue from the show and music from its dramatic, orchestral score over hip-hop beats, while the artists rapped verses about sword fights and fire-breathing dragons."

The WSJ lists Big Boi, Wale, Common, Daddy Yankee and Bodega Bamz as contributors to the mixtape, which HBO hopes will help expand their current 14.3 million viewers further into urban, "multicultural" markets. The article also included a snippet of Wale's lyrical contributions:

I'm tellin' whoever messin' with me
I can bring you that Khaleesi heat
Use my King, knack for words, as an actual sword
    I can decapitate a rapper...

Hey HBO, maybe instead of this sure-to-be cringe inducing rap album, you should have just cast a black guy or two? Hell, I'm willing to bet Wesley Snipes is available; and he was pretty rad with a sword.

Oh no. You guys...does this mean it's only a matter of time until there's 2 Chainz-Lena Dunham track about Brooklyn gentrification? That Jessa's so ratchet.
