SXSW Band Of The Day: K. Flay

    K. Flay is the female emcee of the moment. This Chi-town bred girl is not only a compelling rapper, she's got two degrees from Stanford under her belt. Spending her younger years listening to her dad's classic rock collection mixed with some Parliament-Funkadelic, K. Flay has cultivated a unique rapping style that pairs classics with the hip hop influences of the Bay Area. Beyond spitting some sophisticated rhymes, she can play the guitar and make her own beats. She's even been recognized by some hip-hop veterans, nailing her a spot on stage with OG Cali rapper, Snoop Dogg. What will she be up to next? You can watch her perform at SXSW if you stop by our totally free/no badge-required day party, or check her out while she completes her national tour. Her next stop after SXSW will be Boise, ID on 3/23. Her mixtape I Stopped Caring In '96 is due out 4/11.
