Danish pop singer MØ
is looking both to the past and future in her brand new song "Nostalgia." As the title may suggest, it's all about how MØ is feeling nostalgic for a past love. She sings in the first verse, "I remember the first time I was in love / It was all the way back in 1997 / I stole my mama's cell phone yes, and I was turning it up / Tracked down your number boy I was so in love, I thought I was in heaven."
The lyric video that accompanies it also hits hard with the nostalgia, as it features several adorable baby pictures of MØ, which were curated by her parents. Like I mentioned earlier though, the song looks forward in a way - sonically, the singer is ready for summer. The chorus is anthemic, warm, and feel-good, and it's all laid over a tropical-inspired beat. This tune is going to make you want to plan a trip to the nearest island ASAP this summer.
MØ recently released her EP When I Was Young
last year and recently wrapped a big co-headlining tour with Cashmere Cat
. She was also featured on frequent collaborator Diplo
's latest single, "Get It Right
