HONNE Continue To Be Hopeless Romantics in Two New Singles

Honestly, thank the lord that HONNE is back. This world can sometimes turn into an ugly place but their hopelessly romantic music was always that one thing we could count on to be the same. In 2016 the English electronic duo, which consists of James Hatcher and Andy Clutterbuck, released their debut album Warm On A Cold Night - their singles like "Someone That Loves You (ft. Izzy Bizu)" and "Good Together" made us feel like we were in a committed relationship with someone, even if we were actually the most single person ever. Their music just has that effect on you.

Today they've broken the silence with two brand new singles "Day 1" and "Sometimes." The former is in the same vein as their 2016 album. It's all about being completely infatuation with someone. I just listened to it after chugging a cup of coffee and, I don't know, maybe it was the coffee, but it gave me serious butterflies. The band explained in a press release that it is "fundamentally about loyalty and being with someone right from the beginning... it's the sound of a duo pushing their idiosyncratic sound forward into more confident, beat-driven territory whilst retaining a back-to-basics precision."

The second single, "Sometimes," is slightly different, sounding a little bit inspired by Kanye West or Bon Iver, with tastefully auto-tuned vocals. It actually contrasts what the band is typically known for and shows a darker side to their music, however both songs still offer a certain warmth that only HONNE can bring. Their sophomore LP is set to drop later this year.
