Based on the strength of the two singles that have been released from their forthcoming album, Not Your Kind of People
, 90s industrial rockers Garbage
seem poised to make a comeback (at least in terms of quality of material) that few would have predicted. The lead single from the album, "Blood on the Poppies"
was an unfiltered blast from the 90s though its catchiness and power didn't suffer from the obvious time displacement. The second single, "Battle in Me," might be even better. Visceral, raw female rock-and-roll is rare in this manufactured Lana Del Rey era, and Shirley Manson seems out to prove that she can still rock as hard as the boys ten years later.
