The American Girl doll line has kid's specials on Amazon and they're getting some pretty incredible artists to make the theme songs. Last December, Best Coast did a sunny pop song called "Christmas and Everyday" for An American Girl Story - Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas. And today, we get to hear a song from psych-pop group Foxygen called "Be Yourself" for the upcoming special An American Girl Story - Ivy & Julie: A Happy Balance.

"Be Yourself" is a bouncy pop track that perfectly suits the story of the film, which follows a 10-year-old Chinese-American girl around San Francisco in the 70s who is insecure about having two cultural identities. Frontman Sam France said in a press release, "We wrote our song inspired by 70s television show theme songs. It is also a special song because it is the only Foxygen song so far to feature [Foxygen co-founder Jonathan] Rado on lead vocals in the first verse." With such a chimey, horn-laden track, it's impossible to not be in a good mood.
