2000's Thought for Food
by New York experimental rock group the Books
was one of the prototypes of the freak folk craze that would later sweep artists like Animal Collective and Joanna Newsom. The group continued recording for the next decade, but sadly, as reported by Pitchfork earlier this year, the group has broken up. Nick Zammuto was one half of the the Books duo, and under his new performing name, Zammuto, he's released "The Shape of Things to Come," which is very Person Pitch
in its lo-fi psychedelia. Maybe the Books passing won't be so sad after all.
