8 Artists Who Love Their Pets

Earlier this week, R&B/pop star Khalid posted about his broken heart over his dog, Roxy. Roxy has an obscure lung problem that's been making her really sick for the past week, and Khalid was all over Twitter with it.

People were showing a lot of love too, trying to unofficially diagnose her over the internet (not a recommended method). There's so many artists out there that love their pets, so let's talk about ‘em! Because music is okay but pets... Well, pets are where it's at.

    1. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has a long and sordid history with various pets. These include, but are not limited to: Happy, a rottweiler-mix she found in a Walmart parking lot with Liam Hemsworth in 2012, a bulldog named Ziggy she gave to Liam for his 22nd birthday, a Yorkie mix named Lilah that later died in a fight with Ziggy, an Alaskan Klee Kai puppy named Floyd who died after he was killed by a coyote three years into his life, a little Yorkie named Moonie bought for Miley by her mom to comfort her after Floyd's death, a pig, a blowfish that died in 2015, and two cats. Whew! She also released Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz at the end of the MTV VMAs in 2015. Pretty sure it was literally a giant joke but also probably not, knowing Miley.

    2. Ed Sheeran

Above you will find the no-longer active Twitter account of Ed Sheeran's cat, Graham. Graham found a home with Ed when Ed found out that that the one-month old kitten would be put to sleep if he didn't find a home. So Ed took Graham back and made this Twitter account for him and now we have something to actually really love about Ed Sheeran besides his abysmal haircut and, before it was burned into our brains by the radio, the chorus of "Shape of You".

    3. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has no less than six dogs. Notables include her pit bull Cinnamon, who she rescued a few years ago when it was abandoned as a stray, a black poodle named Sirius Black (nice name), and her puppy Toulouse with whom she believes she is "connected on a soul level". We'll go with it.

    4. Taylor Swift

In this house, there is no correct or incorrect way to relax.

    T. Swift is known for her two kitties, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson. People often joke that Taylor is the cat lady of the celebrity world, and that's probably true. Apparently her cats are very resistant to being put in the cat carrier but she still insists on taking them with her wherever she goes, so they just hang out on her arm like a boyfriend would, except it's not a boyfriend, it's a cat. Also, boyfriends are usually pretty cooperative when you try to put them in a carrier, so it's not usually a problem, you know?

    5. Jennifer Lopez

    J. Lo actually has some dog drama. She owns a large Pitbull named Bear (creative) and was sued in 2015 by a neighbor who was actually brutally attacked by the dog. There are some pretty graphic pictures out there on the web that we won't include but if you're very curious, you're an adult, you know how to do a Google search. The neighbor ended up suing J. Lo for Bear's viciousness. Juicy stuff.

    6. Nick Jonas

Nick got a golden retriever named Elvis when he was around sixteen years old and still a Jonas Brothers star. There's not a ton to say about this one except that the internet LOVES attractive men with dogs, so, there's a lot of press out there about Nick and Elvis. Enjoy.

    7. Katy Perry

Katy Perry's got a little Yorkshire Terrier named Butters that has been on a number of adventures with her. Most notably, the dog actually crapped on her phone a while back and one of her friends got the whole thing on Snapchat. See below.

She also dressed him up on election day, which was pretty good.

    8. 50 Cent

50 Cent has a dog named Oprah Winfree. When asked why he named his dog after Oprah he replied, "I thought Oprah didn't like hip-hop culture. Then I got the dog, and now I love Oprah." You can see Oprah's interrogation of why he named his dog after her above. It's good stuff.
