A$AP Rocky is at a weird crossroads. The Harlem rapper, still riding high off his near classic debut Long.Live.A$AP, has yet to release a follow up. The MC has not given away many details off his album since announcing its existence back in October. Maybe you could blame Drake, Kendrick, or Kanye for making him hesitant to release new music, but, honestly, it's time for Rocky to step up to the plate. Judging by the amazingly underrated single "Multiply" featuring Juicy J -- who also appears as an executive producer -- it appears he is headed in the right direction.

Since exploding onto the scene, the rapper has been entirely innovative, mixing different sonic landscapes including the chopped 'n' screwed sounds of Houston, the "trap" beats of the South, and the hazy stoner rap popularized by Wiz Khalifa. The rapper has proven his swag, and his ear for beats is capable of making radio hits such as "Fucking Problems", but he still hasn't solidified himself in the top 5 as he often claims to be. This next album must change that. In the world of hip-hop, your brags are only as good as your material; so he must come correct or risk staying on that lower tier we know he doesn't want to be at.

Today, Rocky offers up more details on his album and it is very promising. Admitting the album is being mastered, he has promised a "diverse" album. The features prove that with artists such as the unstoppable FKA twigs and the melodic Lykki Li as well as production from Grammy Producer of the Year winner Danger Mouse and frequent collaborator Clams Casino. It looks like Rocky is in good shape to continue to grow and impress, despite not having A$AP Yams in his corner anymore. However, with the recently deceased A$AP Yams still executive producing, expect amazing beat selection and curation of the style that he helped Rocky cultivate. A$AP Rocky is one of the best young MC's to come out in the last few years. With a classic mixtape and very solid debut under his belt, this next album will have to cement his place in hip-hop. Coming from NYC, there is a lot of pressure to succeed.

Check out the banger "Goldie" off his debut below and expect A$AP Rocky to make a splash this summer.
