Alabama Shakes are back. Three years after the stellar debut Boys & Girls, the band is ready to return and release a new LP, Sound & Color, next month on ATO Records. After dropping the lead single "Don't Wanna Fight", the band now offers up the funky "Future People".

"Future People" is everything we have come to expect from the band. As the song opens with, "Can't you see this is gonna bruise," the band takes the listener on a journey to the future. The songs starts slow, allowing Brittany Howard to flex her vocal chops and to hit high notes that many fans will try and surely fail to to reach. By the time the chorus rolls around, the bass is thumping and the guitar riffs take over. Definitely a trippy tune, the soul vibe grounds the song and mixes different musical ideas well. The band has obviously been experimenting and will most likely show more growth on the upcoming album.
