Hot on the heels of the release of "44 More
" and "Overnight
", Grammy-nominated rapper Logic
is back at it again with a new track today. The single, titled "Everyday" features producer and former Lil Peep
. Rumors about the two working together started floating around last year when Marshmello mentioned wanting to work with Logic, and were confirmed a week ago by Logic on social media.
In contrast to the darker, heavier sounds on "44 More" and "Overnight" the new track favors a lighter synth approach filled out with a booming low end and some flirty, airy flute sounds popularized by Jack U. Logic is as on point as he's been on the last two tracks, though he occasionally mixes up his speedy bars for some choruses to flex his singing skills.
Most of the track finds Logic reflecting on the struggles he faced while making his way to the top, and the troubles of adjusting to life there. It's a little lacking in substance in comparison to some of his other work, but unlike the peacocking performed by a lot of other rappers these days, it's not unfounded. From growing up and trying to work his way into the rap game as a biracial artist to being told he's lost it, Logic has had to overcome his fair share of obstacles in his career.
Three tracks in one week is a lot for any artist to drop, but especially for Logic, who's known for being stingy with his releases. And while he's been mum about setting an official release date, it might not be a bad time to start speculating that Bobby Tarantino 2
is on its way out soon.
