Laura Marling is Barely a Folk Singer on 'Nothing, Not Nearly'

UK singer-songwriter Laura Marling is gearing up for the release of her new album Semper Femina out next week with the songs "Wild Fire," "Next Time," and "Soothing," and now she's out with her latest, "Nothing, Not Nearly." After putting all of these songs together, we're wondering what the final product is going to sound like, because they're all so completely different. "Nothing, Not Nearly," contains conversational vocal delivery that Fiona Apple or Sara Bareilles would be proud of. The guitars aren't very folk but much more blues with an edge - like if John Mayer was cracked out on a St. Vincent binge. Even though all of the songs are taking us by surprise, they're doing it in a good way, and we can't wait for the full album which is set to arrive on March 10th.
