The Week In TV

It it just us, or have the late night TV shows become the go-to place for top-tier independent talent to get more exposure? I used to watch Leno and Conan pretty religiously in high school, and the musical acts back then were never as good as they are now. This week is no exception as we have the chance to see the Shins, Kendrick Lamar, Esperanza Spalding, and plenty of other notables who need the chance to be heard by the nation at large. We will however refrain from taking any pot-shots at whoever decided KISS were still relevant enough to book for Jimmy Kimmel. Come on Kimmel... the other Jimmy (Fallon) is way ahead of the curve in this area (this week at least).

    Monday (3/19):

Esperanza Spalding (Late Show With David Letterman)
The Naked and Famous (Jimmy Kimmel Live)

    Tuesday (3/20):

The Shins (Late Show With David Letterman)
Kendrick Lamar (Last Call With Carson Daly)

    Wednesday (3/21):

Tennis (The Tonight Show With Jay Leno
Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem feat. Travis Barker -- a.k.a. the Muppets band (Jimmy Kimmel Live)

    Thursday (3/22):

Cults, Schoolboy Q (Last Call With Carson Daly)
"Weird" Al Yankovic (Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson)

    Friday (3/23):

Dr. Dog (Late Night With Jimmy Fallon)
