What is happening today? It has just been an avalanche of great tunes. New M83, Bat for Lashes, PJ Harvey, and now Carly Rae Jepsen. I had no idea that a Carly Rae Jepsen remix of Emotion (our #2 album of 2015) was even in the works, but apparently it was, and it just dropped today...only in Japan. The album contains remixes of some of Emotion's most popular tracks but the big news is that there are also two new songs and holy "I Really Like You" Batman! These songs are great!

The two new tracks, "Fever" and "First Time," are positively barnburners and could have easily fit in anywhere on Emotion but we're getting new Carly Rae Jepsen tunes today so we aren't complaining. "First Time" is a bit of maximalist, George Michael-esque arena pop with a monstrous hook that goes for days, but I immediately fell in love with "Fever." It's a slowburning ballad, but once it sinks its claws into you, it intensifies many of the most memorable and ambitious sonic touchstones from Emotion and reminds you that there are few artists both subverting and embracing the best pieces of 80s pop like Carly Rae Jepsen.

Can this album come to America now? Please?
