Why does every artist have to drop their album on the same day? For us listeners, it's a challenge to catch up with every new release, especially when it's several different releases from all really exciting artists. So to cut through the noise and make sure you have all of your ducks in a row, we're briefly rounding up the most important albums to listen to this week.

    1. Yo La Tengo - There's A Riot Going On

There's A Riot Going On is the follow up to Yo La Tengo's 2015 album Stuff Like That There and is entirely self-produced.

    MUST LISTENS: "For You Too"

    2. Mount Eerie - Now Only

Now Only is the follow up to Mount Eerie's excellent and heart-wrenching 2017 album A Crow Looked At Me, which was about his wife, Geneviève, who passed away from cancer.

MUST LISTENS: "Tintin in Tibet," "Distortion"

    3. Snoop Dogg - Snoop Dogg Presents Bible of Love

Sometimes it's easy to forget that Snoop Dogg still makes music when he's promoting a hundred different projects, like his cooking show with Martha Stewart and his latest, Coach Snoop. However, here it is - a new Snoop album, which consists of a whopping 32 tracks and tons of features from artists like Charlie Wilson, Marvin Sapp, Chris Bolton, and more.

MUST LISTENS: "Words Are Few (ft. B Slade)," "One More Day (ft. Charlie Wilson)"

    4. The Decemberists - I'll Be Your Girl

Although it was made available for streaming ahead of time via NPR, The Decemberists' latest album is now available everywhere. On it, the band catches us by surprise as they switch up their sound. We called it "synth-laden and ripe with eccentric lyricism," and you can read the review in full here.

MUST LISTENS: "Severed," "Once In My Life"
