Kevin Devine Finds His Inner REM

    Kevin Devine has shared his rendition of R.E.M.'s "Imitation of Life" and it's a little nostalgic of Cat Stevens circa 1971. The song comes off of Devinyl Splits No. 6, the last installment of the Devinyl Splits series featuring Kevin Devine and friends. Devinyl Splits No. 6 features Brand New's frontman Jesse Lacey and his melodic rendition of R.E.M.'s classic track, "Bad Day". The previous splits feature Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), Meredith Graves, Tiger Jaw, Cymbal Eat Guitars, and Owen.

    Devinyl Splits No. 6 features both artists doing covers of R.E.M. - an iconic, all-time favorite band that was Devine's first concert in 1994. R.E.M. was very influential to both Devine and Lacey's musical careers so it was very appropriate for them to pay homage to to the legendary rock weirdos.
