New Music Video: Orbital

We thought it was going to take much longer for a video to come around that captured the same magic of Grimes' "Oblivion" which has become an early front-runner for best music video of the year. However, veteran British electronica act Orbital have come closer than anyone else with their sublime and clever video for "New France" off their forthcoming album Wonky. With acid house beats layered over Zola Jesus's unparalleled voice, "New France"'s video is paired with a story of a teddy bear who abandons his young female owner in the middle of the night to party like a rockstar with his human bros. Anyone who grew up with Toy Story or Calvin and Hobbes will eat up this post-modernist take on the classic "toys coming to life" narrative.
