If you were as blown away by Yeasayer's debut LP, All Hour Cymbals as we were than you are going to be just as excited as we are to learn that Yaesayer is back in the studio, working on their follow up to the 2007 masterpiece. The band which is comprised of Anand Wilder, Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton and Luke Fasano has moved into a secluded cabin in the countryside of Woodstock, New York in order to get their creative juices flowing, and perhaps take influence from some of the legendary musicians who have passed through the town. Will the results sound anything like Bon Iver's Cabin-fever magnum opus? Probably notbut will likely be just as good.

The band has changed the name of their website to Yeasayer Phase 2 and on it you will find a link that says Yaesayer but will link you to Youtube videos of either the video for the Tears for Fears song Everybody Wants to Rule the World or the trailer to the 1976 film Logan's Run. Very strange indeed. If you are interested in keeping track of the new album's progress you can do so by checking their blog, which they have named ODD BLOOD. On it, along with many ramblings about food and shoe stores, the band gives updates on how the recording process is going. Here's a sample of some of the talk going on at ODD BLOOD: Been toying around with a song title... 'Butter Luck' I think it sounds gross and it makes a tingly feeling in the mouth when spoken. All good song titles should tingle. Hopefully the band will channel all of this eccentricity into an album that will live up to the expectations of all of those who loved All Hour Cymbals. My guess is that it will. -Greg Lozoff
