It is March 1st - I know, deep breaths - it's hard to believe since Christmas was, like totally yesterday. Whether we like it or not though, it's officially March, which not only means that it's about to be warm, but also that it is now Women's History Month. And so we thought there's no better way to celebrate the occasion than to throw it back to some of our favorite sessions with some of our favorite women. Today, we're throwing it back to a personal favorite, Baeble's NEXT Session with soul-pop singer-songwriter, LOLO
The Jackson, TN-born artist is as empowering as they come. She writes and performs songs of heartbreak and family, and she gave an amazing live performance when she visited Baeble HQ. She sang songs "Not Gonna Let You Walk Away," "The Courtyard," and more off of her 2016 album In Loving Memory Of When I Gave A Shit.
Yeah, that album title is a pretty solid enough reason to love her. Her soulful croon echoed throughout the entire floor of our building. The emotion and passion built into it was evident. I chatted with her after the session and we talked about the record in addition to what it's like to write show tunes and music for other artists. Oh yeah, did you know LOLO also played the role of Ilse on Spring Awakening?
LOLO does pretty much everything, and that's why she's one of the women that continues to inspire us on a daily basis. We'll be visiting this session all month long.
