Liz Powell of Land of Talk
has been recording some music for the last year or so, and now she has finally announced her first new album since 2010's Cloak and Cipher.
It's entitled Life After Youth
and the first single is "Inner Love," which is out now. It's slow and eerie, with slightly detuned, extraterrestrial-sounding synthesizers that boast a sound similar to St. Vincent
or Mac Demarco
She collaborated with a number of artists on the record, including Sharon Van Etten, John Agnello, former Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, and Roxy Music/Sparks bassist Sal Maida. Life After Youth
is set to drop on May 19th.
