The goofy-named Earl Sweatshirt
has been somewhat of a secret character in the Odd Future gang, despite the resounding response to his contribution to the group's 2010 breakout (his album, EARL
, was among the best received). Many news outlets chased Earl's shadow from OFWGKTA's base in LA to Samoa, where he was reportedly locked down at a youth camp. Now it seems Earl has resurfaced (via Twitter
) with new material.
The track, "Home," has Earl spitting his Das Racist level-fluid rhymes over a simple beat. It's fun! And if he's truly back, it might be enough to snatch the polarized spotlight from current blog-target-practice recipient Lana Del Rey, right back to the Wolf Gang.
