Jay-Z is playing two nights at the Carnegie Hall in Manhattan this week, with all profits benefiting United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. Monday night marked a couple of firsts: the first time Mr. Z has played at the landmark, and the first time he played "Glory" live, a song dedicated to his one-month old Million Dollar Baby. Both were fitting for such a feel-good concert, which saw Jay-Z climb on the balcony during the encore. The New York City rap icon playing at the citys most iconic concert hall seems like a natural partnership, unlike this picture of Jay-Z with Liza Minelli.

Check out the video of the premiere of Glory below.

On a related note, Jay-Z and Beyoncé plan to trademark the name "Blue Ivy" after learning two other applications for the trademark have already been denied. Looks like "Blue Ivy" brand diapers won't be hitting shelves anytime soon.
