Calvin Love has been quiet recently. After releasing New Radar back in 2012, Love has been tight lipped about his follow-up project. After dropping the synth heavy number "Wild Blue" last year without announcing plans for an album, it appears he is finally ready to do so.
The aptly titled "Daydream" sounds exactly like one. Mellow bass mixed with harsh drum beats keep the song interesting, as Calvin's vocals sound distant and pained as if the listener was walking away mid-plea to stay. Lyrics such as "Remember the ways you would look at me / Couldn't seem to catch my breath," unfold slowly, as the guitar riffs seem to be taking their time as well to let the message sink in. The lush groove warrants repeat listens as Calvin seems to have the special talent of making the most simple things poetic.
Check out the song below and get lost in the "Daydream" and expect a new album on Arts & Crafts later this year.
