That's A Wrap: Kishi Bashi at Brinkley's on Broome

    At first listen, Kishi Bashi's debut album, 151a sounds like a otherworldly musical circus with an array of colorful characters flying through the air. But don't be fooled, those magical sounds are emanating from the solitary ringmaster known by friends as K. Ishibashi.

    Going by the pseudonym Kishi Bashi, K. wields only a violin and a platform teeming with pedals. With the precision of a daft scientist, he gradually builds each song piece by piece into an intricate masterpiece of overwhelming depth.

    Today, we finally watched the mohawked master in action, as he along with banjo'd bud Mike Savino (Tall Tall Trees) swung by Brinkley's on Broome for one of our most beautifully eccentric sessions to date. Check out the photos below.
