Post-rock titans Explosions in the Sky are releasing their seventh record, The Wilderness, later this year. I was supposed to see them at Primavera this summer, but sadly, plans changed and I will not be going to Barcelona for them or Sigur Ros. But, that's alright though. Everything from The Wilderness has been so solid that it should hold me over until they decide to come back to New York City at some point in the hopefully near future.
And speaking of new tracks from The Wilderness, BBC tastemaker Zane Lowe premiered the song on his radio show. The new song, "Logic of a Dream," is perfectly titled. It starts with grumbling, machine-esque dissonance that feels like more of a nightmare than the traditionally soaring beauty of Explosions in the Sky. But then those atypical walls of gorgeous sound start to seep into the track until they totally take over. April 1st can't get here soon enough.
