Baeble First Play: The Baroque Blues Of Jocelyn and Chris Arndt

Bluesy vocal delivery and baroque instrumentation don't necessarily seem like a natural pairing. On the surface, they might even seem contradictory. Raw, powerful vocal swells are about an unvarnished showcase of sheer emotion and passionate singing. Baroque production is about expertly fine-tuned melodic craft. But somehow, Albany alt-rockers Jocelyn & Chris Arndt have managed just that.

We have an exclusive premiere of a live performance of Jocelyn & Chris Arndt's "Where's the Rain," the studio version being on the group's upcoming album, Edges. It's hard to believe that an artist that's only 21 can have a voice as well-aged and worldly as Jocelyn Arndt, but when she cranks up the intensity and hits the big notes on "Where's the Rain," it's hard to not get chills. And the track itself is anchored by the gorgeous and lush instrumentation that calls to mind the best of Feist. We're ready to hear Edges ASAP.
